Zweifel at festivals
Snack Attack is a festival activation with high visibility, analog gamification and a fun factor.
The striking Zweifel on the festival site catches the eye from afar. As you approach, the "Snack Attack" game brings a smile to the faces of most visitors. The principle of the game is immediately understandable and encourages people to join in: Two teams - Team Snack and Team Chips - try to hit the oversized mouths with their balls. The softballs are fired with a giant slingshot, following the principle of Angry Birds. The game is completely analog, and up to four participants can take part in each round. For Zweifel Chips, it was crucial to strengthen brand awareness: potato chips and snack bags from the range are therefore prominently displayed, and the message is unmistakable: "We are the snack experts".
CO creation, prototypes and test runs
We developed the concept for the Snack Attack activation together with jim&jim and the Zweifel Chips marketing team. In several brainstorming sessions and a close exchange, three concept routes were developed on the basis of the project briefing. In the end, Snack Attack convinced the decision-makers at Zweifel the most. The focus was particularly on the criteria of brand fit, fun and visibility. They also wanted the Zweifel event team to be able to set up and dismantle the activation independently.
In addition to the 5-metre-high wall, which was subjected to various tests due to the wind load, the selection of the balls and the floor (risk of injury and slipping) as well as the customization of the slingshot and the gigantic snack bags also played a major role in the process. Another highlight: the wall was to be a kind of illuminated advertisement even when the game was not being played and to be effective at night. To achieve this, the creative and construction team from made equipped the mouths and other elements with indirect LED lighting.
Another key aspect was planning the flow of visitors: Where do participants queue? How are their valuables stored? Where can they wait without being constantly hit by balls? The walls, elements and installation of the two containers that were used were created in our workshop in Busslingen, where we also carried out the first test set-ups and optimizations.
The Snack Attack activation finally celebrated its premiere at the Greenfield Festival in Interlaken.
