Remote XMAS for Samsung

Our interpretation of a remote Christmas party for 450 Samsung employees at their home in Austria and Switzerland.

Galaxy Lametta Xmas Party! That was our interpretation of a remote Christmas party for 450 Samsung employees at their home in Austria and Switzerland. 90 minutes moderated, commented and interpreted by the unbeatable Hazel Brugger in ugly sweater - implemented in just under 4 weeks.

Highlights:

  • Interactive Christmas tree with photos from the home office directly into the studio
  • Chat and Calls with Hazel Brugger
  • Live sets by DJ Ronfa from Welschland
  • Interactive illusion with magician Arthur Roscha (to do it yourself at home, it works!)
  • Speeches from the executive floor in ugly sweaters and our tinsel Christmas secretary (chat support).

Suprise guest in the studio was none other than comedian Kaya Yanar, who laughed it up with Hazel in a tinsel lucky wheel word fight.

In the run-up, we sent almost 500 packages with ugly socks, a card set and sweets to all employees in Switzerland and Austria. We planned and implemented a shoot at the Samsung Switzerland headquarters, scouted the location and developed the concept, including look & feel and landing page.

Implementation:

  • Content concept (story, central theme, suspense)
  • Graphic
  • Technical concept (streaming, chat and call channels, social wall)
  • Overall management of the event, script, texts, schedule, director's plan
  • Interactive photo activation (technical process and implementation)
  • Landing page (layout and programming)
  • Packages, composition of content to match the story, ordering of components, packaging, shipping and coordination CH and AT
  • Artist handling, contracts, briefing, support
  • location scouting
  • Decoration concept streaming location incl. set-up and dismantling
  • Organisation of streaming shooting day (incl. catering, parking and covid concept)
  • Camera crew, direction and stream in cooperation with Smovie
  • Reporting and debriefing

New event age - new questions

An exciting new unprecedented era has dawned: that of remote events. This presented us with many questions and tasks that we tried to solve with common sense, a spirit of innovation and a willingness to take risks (and a lot of adrenaline rushes).

Since remote events are still in their infancy, there were a lot of trial-and-error loops. Here are a few questions we've dealt with:

How long should and may a remote party last?

We trim from an initial 3 hours to about 1:30 hours, knowing that participants will have to spend that long in front of the screen.

How do you integrate live music that takes into account latency, budget and the technical challenges?

We decided to have live DJs on site. Technically well solvable and still with a certain live character and interaction possibilities.

How can we design a stream with the look and feel of the party on a landing page and prepare it technically so that it doesn't break down?

We opted for a classic streaming variant, decoupling chat and social wall to keep the data volume of 400 simultaneous users on the streaming side in check.

What risks should be considered and minimized with regard to Covid19? What to do if the artists, cameramen or we drop out shortly before (quarantine etc.)?

We made a risk list and actually had to resort to it, as the original DJs from Berlin couldn't arrive due to the lockdown. Four days before the event we had to hire a new DJ (within Switzerland), brief and prepare 3 sets.

All participants on the set have a current negative Covid19 test.

What questions are you concerned with in connection with remote events?

We have put together a know-how page for you on the subject of remote events.
